KMH Audio-Video Integration successfully implemented the next phase of a major technology integration project at The New York Giants football organization, transforming the team’s audio-video support services into a world-class production facility with integration to MetLife Stadium.
KMH is leading the upgrade at Giants’ headquarters, East Rutherford, New Jersey. The facility provides various services, including a studio and control room for the team’s postgame, training-camp, and press-conference shows, as well as year-round digital content for a variety of productions. Since the initial upgrade just prior to the start of the 2014-2015 season, the Giants have been adding new capabilities that include increased interconnectivity to the stadium and additional graphics and playback capabilities, all supported by the Snell Advanced Media (SAM) Phyxis router SAM is a partner of KMH.
The installation enables the Giants to achieve a 50 percent increase in production operations and content distribution, complementing improvements to the control-room systems, better communications with the field and highlights playback.
The Giants had a specific need to support analog audio and timecode as well as RS422 machine control commands, which few industry routers offer. The user-friendly control system and panels provide a significant operational advantage.
Production staff found the operational panels and interface to be extremely easy to use and were able to support a show one day after the system was tested and commissioned.
All of this required a quick turnaround and minimal disruption to the intricate technology systems in place at Giants’ headquarters. The new technology deploys a standardized platform that supports future expansion. SAM’s Pyxis multi-format, compact routers deliver larger capacity in a more compact footprint and are configured to support 72×72 HD/SDI signals, 72×72 stereo audio and 32 RS422 p.
